What is data?
Data means information. It could be everything we collect, observe, or measure.
I use data to better understand things.
How is the weather today?
This is all data! Qualitative Data (words)
This type of data tells you which type or type.
It’s not a number. Quantitative data (numbers)
How many, and frequency. Here are some simple ways:
1. Observation
Observe and notice what we are seeing.
Example: You can see the number of cars passing by your house in 10 minutes.
2. Research
Ask people and record their answers.
Example: What is your favorite ice flavor?
3. Experiment
Run activities and collect results.
Example: Drop another ball and pay attention to the height you jump.
4. Use the tool to find size, weight, temperature, and more.
Example: Measure your height using a ruler.
This is because organized data is easy to read and understand.
Marking of tally
Tally marking is an interesting way to count things.
Each line means a count. Line 5 runs the first four to create the group.
Example: How many students like all fruits?
Table
Tables are used to clearly display data in lines and columns.
These are called data representations.
Emoji
Display numbers using images or symbols.
Example: Apple
How many apples did all children eat?
bar -diagram
View data using beams.
A larger bar means a larger number.
Example: Favorite pets from children
Home tier number
Dog 6
Cat 4
Fish 2
Balk diagrams make it easy to compare things.
Teeing Diagram
The Teeing Diagram displays data that changes over time. The points are connected to a line.
Example: 5 Days Temperature (°C)
Monday 25
Tuesday 27
Thursday 26
Friday 29
You can draw a line to show how the temperature rises.
Selection Options
living creatures want to live. Better.
Most kids love bananas. Average (average)
All numbers are added and then divided by the number of numbers.
Example:
Test results: 80, 85, 90
(80 + 85 + 90) ・3 = 255 raw・3 = 85
Mean = 85
Modes
The most frequently displayed number.
Example:
Shoe size: 3, 4, 4, 5
modus= 4
Subtract the minimum number from the maximum number.
How many books are there in the whole?
4 + 7 + 3 + 6 + 5 = 25 books
What is the average?
25・5 = 5
What books did you read?
7
Who read the little book?
Ask 10 people about your favorite colours.
Write down the data.
Use tally markings or pictograms to view the results.
Is it the most popular? at least?
You just became a data scientist!

Why data is useful
